"When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower."

- Alexander Den Heijer,

In present-day America, at least one in four women takes a psychiatric medication, compared with one in seven men.

About 20% of postpartum Mothers in America are affected by "mental health conditions."

We are facing an epidemic in what is labeled as "Maternal Mental Health."

HOWEVER, the focus on “Maternal Mental Health” and the "prevention" or "treatment" of perinatal mood disorders via campaigns, classes, legislature, medical intervention and the like - is missing the point and treads in dangerous waters.

What if nothing is "wrong" with postpartum Mothers?

What if postpartum Mothers are having normal, healthy responses to incredibly dysfunctional environments?

What if the vulnerable bodies of postpartum Mothers are alerting humanity of our urgent collective need for CHANGE?

The current conversation of "Maternal Mental Health" focuses on examining, diagnosing and treating individual Mothers, without looking at the conditions in which Mothers are expected to live, give birth, and raise their children.

This is not a new pattern.

Thoughout history, women's suffering has been pathologized versus understood.

It was in the 5th century BC, the Hippocrates first coined the term "HYSTERIA" from 'hystera' or 'uterus,' claiming that "Hysteria" was a mental disorder that pertained only to women.

But what if "Maternal Mental Health Disorders" are NOT the problem - but the SYMPTOM and a SIGNAL?

In this free class with Rachelle Seliga, you will learn:

  •  A Reflection of Culture: The real story behind why postpartum Mothers are feeling depressed, anxious, rageful and psychotic

  • Why women's emotional intensity around birth and postpartum is a reflection of their health, and not a sign of dis-ease.

  • The Root Conditions required for Maternal wellness - including the five cross-cultural prescriptions of postpartum care.

  • How Mothers’ are the canary in the coal mine for humanity – and how through the bodies of Mothers – we are being alerted to our collective need of immediate change.- and by tending to this we tend to the very fabric of a living culture.

  • ONE major way we can take action to turn all of this around

Rachelle is a woman enamored with LIFE and with a burning fire to live into potential. She is currently apprenticing the idea that Ram Dass shared "The world is perfect as it is, including our desire to change it.” This paradox speaks to the heart of Rachelle’s approach: surrendering to what Life asks of us, while holding the focused and directional prayer of our heart's desires.
