Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® is a non-invasive, external massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimum health and well-being. Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. This therapy is effective for both men and women.

The technique applies anatomy, physiology, herbology and naprapathy (study of the ligaments, joints and muscles) with Ancient Maya healing techniques to address common female and male discomforts and dis-ease. The technique works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology.

Holistic Pelvic Care™ (HPC) is a combination of gentle, internal bodywork techniques, intra-vaginal assessment tools and simple breathwork, to physically and energetically align the pelvis.
Pioneered by physical therapist Tami Kent MSPT, Holistic Pelvic Care™ addresses the health of the pelvic bowl at any stage of a woman’s life or health.  HPC releases internal trigger points, smooths fascia and softens scar tissue, reestablishing strength and synergy in the pelvic bowl.  This work also improves alignment and function of the ovaries and uterus through increasing both blood flow and awareness to the pelvic organs.

The pelvis goes through many shifts and changes throughout a woman’s life, and both requires and deserves appropriate physical care.  Within today’s modern medicine, the pelvis unfortunately only receives proper care once pathology has developed in the body.  Holistic Pelvic Care™ provides both preventative and curative care, giving us tools as women for optimal health.

There are currently few ‘specialists’ of breast care in our country. The health care that is generally available for our breasts is ‘diagnostic’ in nature and diagnostic care is not true health care. We need to be our own Breast ‘experts,’ to fill in this missing gap of a VITAL piece of our health care.

Our breasts are the place that we give from: to our babies, to our lovers and energetically to the world. As women, we are often wonderful givers, but not as wonderful receivers. Our breasts are giving us a wake-up call as women—to start taking care of ourselves: mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, and to start receiving as much as we are giving, to be in right relationship with Life.

There are many things we can actually do to CREATE health in our breasts; serving as preventative care.

In cultures throughout our world, an extended care period for Mothers after birth has been observed since time immemorial.  During approximately the first 40 days after birth, women traditionally received a plethora of bodywork, healing foods and heat-inducing therapies—all focused on healing and fortifying Mothers strength.  This type of postpartum care came from the cultural recognition of the tremendous work Mothers do growing and birthing babies.  Postpartum care was understood as a necessity—so that Mothers could most effectively raise the next generation.

In modern times there is an enormous emphasis placed on caring for our bodies during pregnancy, with virtually nothing offered to address the myriad of postpartum needs.  When we truly understand what it takes to physiologically recuperate from pregnancy and childbirth, we as women would not feel the need to return as quickly as possible to ‘normal,’ and we would gracefully demand for ourselves the care we deserve.  Once we begin to take ownership of what we are deserving of, then our communities and world will begin to support us in this.

Nurturing Traditions offers INNATE Postpartum Care so that women can most optimally heal and integrate after the tremendous work of pregnancy and birth, as well as INNATE Postpartum Care Classes, to educate birthworkers how to optimally care for their postpartum clients.

Physiology gives to us an incredibly beautiful blueprint of how to care for our babies. Understanding this ‘physiological blueprint,’ gives us access to all the information we need of how to care for our baby’s: feeding patterns, elimination, need to be in arms, sleep cycles and need to cry in a supported way (in the loving arms of a caregiver). This is not a ‘philosophy’ of parenting—This is understanding and using the wisdom within our basic biology, to lay a solid foundation for our children to thrive. Nurturing Traditions offers both group classes and private consultations in ‘physiological newborn care.’

Nurturing Traditions works with the Temazcal/'Sweatlodge,’ to support and honor the various stages, transitions and healings of human life. This ceremonial structure has a long historical tradition in: North, Central and South America, much of Europe, Russia, Africa, Japan, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Nurturing Traditions works with the Temazcal—the name coming from Temazcalli, of the Nahuatl language of the Anahuaca culture of Mexico—“temaz” meaning “bath” and “calli” meaning “house.”
In entering the Temazcal, we enter the womb of Mother Earth. Within this womb, life-giving qualities are exalted, protected and nourished, and that which no longer serves us is shed.
